Dear Parents,
Rose has had an incredible week showcasing student talent during the Frozen musical, the district Winter Wonderfest, and yesterday’s orchestra concerts. Your time and support was essential to make these events a success! Thank you for embracing the crazy schedules, late nights, and constant communication that made all of these fun events possible! A huge thank you to Mrs. Blake, Mr. Panagakis, and Mrs. Cleary for all of the time and effort spent preparing our Rose Stingrays to be shining stars! Please read below for school and district news:
Congratulations! Akshara K. recently participated in the American Chemical Society's National Chemistry Week, Fall 2021, illustrated poem contest. The theme for this year was "Fast or Slow... Chemistry Makes it Go!" Akshara's poem has been announced as the winner in the regional Chicago ACS section (III-V grade division making this her fourth consecutive win). Click here to see her winning entry!
Transportation Updates: Some van routes will be adjusted starting next week. Families will be contacted directly by the transportation department if there is a change. If you are not contacted, your child’s route will not change.
Student Vaccination Update: In order to plan for the second half of the 2021-22 school year, Barrington 220 is seeking student vaccination information. Providing proof of vaccination is voluntary. However, students who have not provided proof will be considered unvaccinated for contact tracing purposes. Additionally, understanding the percentage of students who have received the vaccination is a critical data point as we work to maintain a healthy school environment. At this time, children age 5 and over are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. If your child is fully vaccinated (two doses), please send a copy (either a photo or PDF format) of your child’s vaccination card to districtnurseoffice@barrington220.org. Please include your child’s first and last name, as well as the school your child attends. If your child has only received one dose, please send a copy of your child’s vaccination card once the second dose has been administered. If you indicated your child’s vaccination status through Infinite Campus earlier this fall, we are asking that you still submit a photo of your child’s vaccination card to the email listed above. Please note, now that your child is fully vaccinated, your child will no longer be eligible to participate in weekly Shield Testing at school. If you have any questions, please contact our District Nursing Coordinator, Bridget Heroff at bherroff@barrington220.org
COVID FAQ’s: This district document has been updated to include guidelines regarding domestic and international travel over winter break. The two main questions include:

A: Barrington 220 advises you to consult with the most up-to-date CDC guidance linked below, as vaccination status will impact the types of mitigation needed before, during, and after domestic travel:
