Principal's Notes and Highlights
Happy Friday!
It was a beautiful day at CSA Lincoln! Exhibit Columbus kicked off the University Installations and so our campus has been very busy. Many of our students have been watching the construction process during recess this week. I was talking with the organizers about how this is such a unique experience for our students. This event could inspire one of them to be the next "big name" in architecture!
- I said goodbye to the Miyoshi delegation this morning as they headed home. This week both the students and leaders visited CSA Lincoln. We exchanged several pieces of artwork with our sister school. I've included a picture of 5th grader, Kate Franklin, with the Miyoshi leaders. Kate moved back to Columbus from Japan this summer and is new to our school. While I speak limited Japanese, Kate put me to shame when speaking fluently with the leaders. We were all very impressed. I think I have found my tutor for the next month.
- We all survived the Solar Eclipse! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped make this event successful. There were a few pictures of our students in The Republic newspaper, several more on their website and a Facebook Live video. I've also included a dance video we created. Dr. Roberts and Dr. Hack joined in on the fun too!
- Each Monday I send our staff an email with details, my schedule and events for the week. This past week my message focused on our #workhardplayhard motto and that I would be recognizing classrooms that exemplified this mentality. While I saw lots of learning happening in many classes, this week I am recognizing Mr. Wright and Miss Cook's classes. Third grade was dialed in on their VersaTiles activity and Sophie in 6th grade made the comment "My mind is sweating" when asked if she was working hard. Love it! :)
- Please put September 8th on your calendar. We will be having A Grand Reading Event in which grandparents or a special guest are invited to school that afternoon to share a story with their student(s). More details will be shared in next week's newsletter.
- I have included a picture of one of the small groups I worked with in Miss Manuel's class. We had a good time!
Have a great weekend!

Updates and Reminders
- How can you get involved with The Linden Project? Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks to learn how. The Reeves Foundation and the Heritage Fund have been HUGE donors for the project, but we still need to raise some money to get the last few pieces together. I'll be sharing information soon on all the ways you can help. The Linden Project website and Facebook page will be updated with the new design soon.
