It was a wonderful week...
This week was filled with routines, fun, and lots of good learning! Students dove into Unit 1 reading, practiced mental math, and started problem solving tasks. We also introduced our first Zones of Regulation lesson. Students are learning about emotions and how to identify how they are feeling and using tools to support them when they have big emotions. Next week will be our first full week of school and we are excited to get our routines in full swing. Thank you for your help and patience as we have adapted our systems. It will be a great week!
Change of Dismissal Plan
If you need to change the end of day dismissal plan for your child please call the office by 2:30 to ensure that we have adequate time to get the information to your child's teacher. You can call the office at (360) 829-3355. Thank you for your help with this!
Arrival and Dismissal Plan (no changes this week)
Walkers: Please use the front sidewalk and entrance to the school instead of the bus parking lot to walk through. With buses pulling in, it is a safety hazard to have families walking through! Thank you!
Walkers: For students who are walking up from the neighborhoods or the parking lot, please use the doors by the gym. There is not a sidewalk linking to the rainbow area. Thank you for your help with this!
Car Drop Off: Beginning at 8:45: Use the lane closest to the curb and pull all the way to the roundabout. Release students from the car only in the rainbow roundabout. There is a new sidewalk for them to use. Students will enter through the doors by the orange wing. If they want breakfast, they will enter the cafeteria. If not, they will head to the gym and wait for the first bell.
Car pick-up
Use the lane closest to the curb and pull up to the stop sign. Be prepared to tell the staff member at this location your child’s name and grade. If you have more than one student, you will share each student’s name and grade level.
The staff member will tell you which color curb to pull up to (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple). Pull up to the curb and load in your student.
Park and pick-up
If you prefer to park and get out to get your student, you can use the left lane to pull through and park. Then use the crosswalk to meet your child at the front entrance of the school. A staff member will be there to meet you and get your student.

Friendly
Our character trait of the month is Friendly.
Being friendly means that you are patient and kind to others. You try and include everyone in games and activities.
You are an active bystander to others, meaning you are supportive to everyone even if they aren’t your friend.
Sometimes being friendly means you need to be brave and ask someone to join you even if you are nervous.
