FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S PEN
Tēnā koutou katoa
This week we acknowledged our sports, cultural and academic award recipients and farewelled those students leaving the secondary school system in a series of three ceremonies. I would like to congratulate all our students, those achieving success, and those who participated through their presence. After three disrupted years, it was very enjoyable to be able to meet socially once again. The ceremonies were very moving and such a great tribute to the calibre of students we have going through our school system.
While we all may have our own favourite parts, people over the last few days have enthusiastically commented on the amazing:
- Kapa kaha performances
- Our student singers, musicians, and speakers
- Impromptu guest speaker (John Hill) at the Sports Awards
- Bridget Armstrong’s Board of Trustees speech
- Father Arthur, who celebrated Mass with us
- The way our students supported each other and the way they received their awards.
- The mature air of reverence that was shown by all
- The hospitality offered by the College at all ceremonies.

CELEBRATIONS
What a week of wonderful celebrations at Campion College! We congratulate all our prizewinners and wish our leavers a goodbye full of aroha. Student, Ella Saunders and teacher, Mr Chater took many wonderful photographs during the ceremonies and these will be made available to whānau next week.
Attached below is a list of all our prize winners. We take this opportunity to congratulate the two top academic students in our College, Runner-up Dux, Kalen Derr, and Dux of the College for 2022, Sarah Ruelens.
Dux of the College, Sarah Ruelens
Runner-up Dux, Kalen Derr.
NZQA EXTERNAL ASSESSMENTS AND TIMETABLE
NZQA External Examinations begin on Monday for senior students. Students should all have their admission slips. It is essential that students bring this with them to every exam. If an admission slip is misplaced, a replacement must be picked up from the office or printed directly from the NZQA website. Please encourage your child to carefully check the timetable to ensure they know the date and time of each of their exams.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Congratulations to Madeleine Poulter and Theo Smith who were selected for the Gisborne U12 Girls Football team. They played last weekend in a Napier tournament, placing fourth overall.
We love to hear about and celebrate our students' achievements. Please share info and/or photos with karyn.sadler@campioncollege.school.nz
GIRLS' SKATE GROUP
The Girls' Skate group meets every Friday morning at 8.30 am at the skatepark. All levels of skill are welcome. We can give students a ride to Campion College in time for school afterwards. We'd love to see you joining in with this awesome group of keen skaters.
LEAVERS' DINNER
Our annual Leavers’ Dinner will be held on Sunday 4th December 2022 at the Bushmere Arms. Students leaving the secondary school system and parents are invited to this official function which is the last formal occasion on which the group meets. It is a requirement that all students attend with at least one parent.
The cost is $55.00 per person and tickets can be purchased through KINDO by Wednesday 30
November 2022.
Guests are welcome to arrive at 6.30pm for informal gathering and drinks, with the
official function starting at 7.00pm. In the past this evening has been most enjoyable for parents, students and staff attending. It is an opportunity to meet with and farewell our senior students as they embark on the next phase of their lives.
We do not like to see any of our families facing financial stress. If there is any student
who would like to attend but feel that their financial circumstances prevent this, please
see your learning mentor or Mrs Sadler.

A PRAYER FOR OUR STUDENT LEAVERS
May God's blessing follow you all as you find new journeys to travel.
May you walk safely along the pathways of your dreams.
May his gentle hand guide the decisions you will make and the passions that you follow.
May your hearts and lives always reflect his love and truth,
And may hope be a light within you that you carry into each new day.
Amen.
