Thank you for taking our survey about the schedule
When we created our operating plan for the pandemic, research for a vaccine was under way, and no one foresaw it would be available so quickly. We are so grateful for the medical professionals.
It's exciting to watch as the vaccine rolls out for our teachers and for those most at risk in our community and we're hopeful as COVID levels recede in our community.
As you may know, these changes create a potential for our schools to move to expand in person learning in our schools.
We're looking at whether students attending four days a week full time is possible. The biggest barrier is physical distancing of 6 feet among individuals.
This week, we're checking in with you and our students about your comfort level with a possible change knowing that physical distancing will be a challenge.
We are so appreciative of the parents and students who have been able to participate in the survey so far. Here's the link for the parent survey if you missed it earlier: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSDParents21
We will be sharing information with the school board 5 p.m. Monday. The meeting will be live streamed if you would like to view it. Look for information Monday on the district website www.caldwellschools.org or we also share the link on our Facebook page.
Summer Bridge Programs
The recent federal stimulus package that provided individuals with $600 also provided new one-time funding for schools to address pandemic learning needs.
We are exploring options for June and August for "bridge" programs for our students to prepare for the transition to the next grade level. Our plan is to ask you to participate in another short survey to determine if there would be interest in these types of academic programs.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unusual school year together.
Community partnership will expand WIFI access for our elementary students

Great Starts: Preschool, kindergarten sign ups 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 at every elementary school
