November Newsletter
From the Office
With November coming to a close, we want to share our gratitude for all the families that attended our Thankful for Our Families event. It was great seeing all of you enjoying breakfast and participating in our Brain Smart Start in our classrooms. We look forward to more opportunities this school year to have families participating in events at Wells.
Cold Weather
The cold temperatures are upon us. Please send your student in a warm coat, hat and gloves. The district policy is to have outdoor recess when temperatures are 11 degrees or higher.
Students that want to play in the snow must have a winter coat, hat, gloves, snow pants and boots. If they do not have all of these items, they will remain on the blacktop to play during recess.
Important Dates
Social-Emotional Focus
Has your child come home talking about KHYFOOTY? This has been our focus at Wells. KYHFOOTY stands for keep your hands, feet and other objects to yourself. Students are working on using their big voice instead of using their hands to communicate. Students are encouraged to take a deep breath and ask a safekeeper to help them problem solve. Creating a safe environment for our students and teaching safe problem solving skills is our #1 priority.
At Home Practice
Students are encouraged to work on Lexia Core and ST Math nightly. These apps (pictured below) are located in Clever on your student's Chromebook. Both apps are designed to build skills based on individual needs and strengths.
