Happy Fall Y'All

What a fun time of year! I love changing seasons! We've had fun this month with our apple unit. We measured our apples, we counted the seeds, and even graphed our apples. Did you know there is a star in every apple???

I hope you've had fun learning about our funny color friends (Yellow, Yellow sat in Jello). It's so much fun to see how excited they get when we have a new color friend. Thanks so much for everyone doing an amazing job remembering the color of the day. We only have 1 more color friend left and then we'll be moving on.

Everyone has done a great job bringing their BEE binders and book bags each day. Thanks so much for your help with this process. Please remember to empty all the papers out each day.

Thanks to everyone who came to our Reader's Theater and Donuts in the Park! Wasn't that fun! I was so proud of all the kids. It's amazing what they can do! I really enjoyed visiting with everyone.

October will be a fun month. We're kickin' it off with an Autumn walk next week (more info to come) then we will have a unit on spiders, pumpkins and Halloween fun!

Some great reminders:

*Alphabet book: located in BEE binders: make sure to check out the letter page that your child did that week

*Poems: located in BEE binder: these are great to read every so often

*Homework: Make sure their writing is always in pencil. Please remember to have them do it correctly. It doesn't do any good to practice it wrong :)

*Book bags: Friday you will always get a pre-decodable book and a letter book. This is your child's book for the day. Please keep them home in a safe place and pull them out every so often and see if they can read them.

*Names: We are going to start writing our names with first letter capital and then lowercase for the rest. Example: Sara-capital S lowercase a, r, a Just wanted to let you know in case you see corrections on their page:)

*Sight Words: please make sure you practice at least once a week. I will be sending home flash cards next week. The sight words will be on the 1st trimester assessment. A complete list is also included in their BEE binders.

My last thing..... thank you so much for sharing your child with me! We have an amazing class and we have so much fun together! I'm very fortunate to be at Sunshine with great families!

Take care~
