News from Mrs. Mankin

Dear NBE Families,

As we return to school virtually, we are also learning to navigate a difficult time for our nation. The global pandemic, economic hardships, and social unrest around racial injustices has created an unprecedented time for us all to negotiate. In order to provide safe, supportive, and equitable learning environments to all students, we will be collecting information from families that have students in grades K-4. This survey asks questions about your student's school experience prior to Covid-19, his/her experience the last few months during the stay-at-home order, how the social unrest has impacted them, what concerns you have about learning virtually, and also how your family was personally impacted by COVID-19. Results from this survey will help your teacher and school counselor provide additional supports to your student if needed.

Please click on this form to fill out your students survey. If you have more than one student, please fill one out for each student. Plan to complete the form by Friday, August 14.

If you have any further questions or concerns about your student or this survey, please reach out to your student's teacher, school counselor, or building principal.

Thank you for your time, thoughtful consideration on this survey, and for partnering with us.

HSE Virtual Elementary Schedule

Big picture

Reminder

The above schedule is the elementary virtual learning schedule. At this point, you should have more specific information from your child's classroom teacher regarding his/her specific small-group times. If you have any questions, please email your student's teacher.

Frequently Asked Questions - Answers from Mrs. Goodpaster, Tech Specialist

Our Tech Specialist is available via email - just reach out to her at nbetech@hse.k12.in.us if you have any technology challenges or would like to schedule an appointment/help session. Please review the Tech FAQs. Several students were having problems accessing Canvas and more specifically our Related Arts (STEAM, Art, Music, PE, and Global Studies) Canvas pages. If this was the case for your student, please be sure to follow the directions for adding the Canvas shortcut to your student's home screen. The Canvas app does not appear to be reliable.
