Important Announcements For Upcoming Weeks:
MUSIC CONCERT INFORMATION
The Grade 2 students will be presenting the musical Whether the Weather by Andy Beck and Brian Fisher on Tuesday, February 23 at 11:30 AM (doors will open at 11:15) at the ASD Theater. This will be a wonderful opportunity to see and hear the students as they integrate science, language arts and music learning in one exciting production! Family members are all invited!
Reminder to please bring a plain blue top (with no pictures or words; Carrefour sells inexpensive blue t-shirts), and jeans in a bag, clearly labeled with your child’s name, by Thursday, February 18th. I think we have most of the shirts already. Your child can also bring a warm hat or mittens too since 2E will be singing about snow (it's optional).
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the performance! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Friendship Festival T-Shirt Orders
Friendship Festival t-shirts will be sold at Gate 5 and Gate 8 the week of February 21st - 25th. This year's Friendship Festival T-Shirt gives you free entrance to this year's Friendship Festival which will be on Friday February 26th.
Curriculum Updates and Activities
Weekly Math Update
Students enjoyed math stations this past week, where they rotated from table to table, doing number strings, flash cards/math facts, problem solving, etc. We love collaborating with peers in math activities.
Weekly Social Studies Update
- Our amazing souq and dhow field trip was enjoyed by all on Thursday. Special thanks to parents who came to chaperone. We'll continue to study Qatar's history with pearl diving, oil and gas, etc.
Weekly Reading and Writing Update
We are planning and composing pieces of opinion writing to be shared with others. Topics include "There Needs To Be More Recess at School," and "Minecraft is the Best Video Game." We are giving reasons and examples to support our opinions.
