Manaakitanga Awards Week 1 Term 2
Ruby goes above and beyond to help others and her teachers. She sees needs and uses her initiative to act on them and step up without being asked. She shows humility in the way she helps as she doesn’t seek acknowledgement. Helping others comes naturally and spontaneously to her.
Lexuz-Starr Ngatai (Tunohopu 4)
Lexuz-Starr is always well prepared for school and makes a conscientious effort in all areas of her learning. She reflects honestly on her work and sets goals for improvement.
Samaira Sareen (Te Rangiiwaho 2)
Samaira is always on task, always doing the right thing and her work is consistently to a high standard. She collaborates with others and always shares her own ideas to help everyone achieve.
Shar-Naya Kelly-Howard (Hurungaterangi 2)
Shar-Naya is a thoughtful and respectful tauira within our Hurungaterangi Whānau. She cares for her peers and will often lend a helping hand to those that need it, including kaiako. She considers others feelings and demonstrates kindness when supporting others. She can always be relied upon and consistently demonstrates our school values.
Puna Maru (Te Roro o Te Rangi 4)
Puna consistently shows “Tuakana, Teina”. His aroha and manaaki towards our Tau 7 inside and outside the classroom is exceptional. Kei runga noa atu koe Puna.
Paige Amos (Pathways / Tunohopu 1)
Always focussed in Science. Works with passion on all projects. Really caring towards others in the class, helping out when she can. Total embodiment of the schools 3r’s.

ROTORUA INTERMEDIATE OLD BOY:
We had a visit this week from Sir Gordon Tietjens who is a past student of Rotorua Intermediate. He is known in the rugby world as the most highly decorated coach in the history of Rugby 7's.
Fun Fact: Mr de Thierry was a highly respected rugby referee back in the day, who refereed at National levels. Mr de Thierry refereed many of Sir Gordon Tietjens games.
