Daily In Person Learning to Return on 03/22/21
On Monday, February 22, the SMSD superintendent announced that students would be returning to daily in person schooling on March 22. Please note that information will be coming in the future weeks regarding updated in person protocols and requirements.
As I stated in the Board of Education meeting on Monday evening, our ability to properly socially distance at IHMS is severely impaired due to the number of in person students we have returning (708). However, we will do our best to keep our staff and students safe by socially distancing when possible, wearing masks at all times, and employing a variety of other mitigating strategies that can be found in the middle school mitigating measures document linked here.

The IHMS Student Services team has created a virtual calming room (click link) for students, staff and families to access in times of need.
We know that stress and anxieties are high right now in our community. This IHMS Peace Corner has videos and activities to help manage stress, calm down strong feelings and build resiliency. We hope that this will be another resource for our families to navigate this unusual school year.
