The Media Connection - Library Media Center News from Ms. Arax

General Library and Overdue Book Information

  • Let me know how I can help support learning in your classroom. We have over 10,000 books in our collection and we circulate at least 500 books every week (not including e-books). If your team is working on a project, how can the Library Media Center support student learning and your teaching? I'm here to help and I look forward to connecting with you.

  • Please remember to check out books with me and put them in the drop box when you are finished. If accurate, our library circulation records are a helpful indicator and important data on how our school is supporting literacy.

  • Overdue Notices Information:

  1. Automatic e-mail overdue notices are sent out on a County wide basis. If you have any questions, e-mail me and I can look into individual accounts.
  2. I print out paper notices about once a month and deliver them to classroom teachers so they can send the notices home with students.
  3. Remember we never want to shame our students or make them feel bad for forgetting a book. Students can check out one book at a time so we encourage them to bring them back so they can exchange during their class time with me.
  4. If you keep books in the classroom and a student gets a notice:
a) Check your classroom for the book.

b) The student might have taken the book home so have them check at home.
