Weekly News from Kimball Hill
WEEK of February 8, 2021
IMPORTANT Message from the Kimball Hill Principal
Dear Kimball Hill Parents & Guardians,
We hope that you are enjoying our daily staff read aloud posts on our Facebook page. Please check us out and Like our page. Help our school shine throughout our community!
We are in need of your help! Our yearly 5E Survey, designed to showcase the inner workings of our school and provide input for improvements is now available. In order for our school to receive feedback from the state, we need at least 20% of our parents to complete this brief survey. In past years, we have had an extremely low percentage of parents complete the survey. Please help me get the highest percentage ever and showcase the amazing community that unites us all. For the first 30 parents that complete the survey and send me the confirmation email, you will receive a Kimball Hill tumbler cup or Kimball Hill Lunch Sack (pictures below). Please note, the survey will only allow one parent per family to complete the survey.
Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ to take the parent survey
As always, please reach out to me any time with questions or concerns at lacamerm@ccsd15.net or call the school at 847-963-5200.
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera

Valentines Day Communication from District 15
We are now into January, which means Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it! In a typical school year, this would mean we’d be working with our PTAs to plan classroom parties and activities to mark the occasion. Due to the abundance of restrictions that continue to be in place throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to host classroom parties this year, or exchange treats/cards with classmates.
While I am sure this does not come as a surprise, I know it is still disappointing to hear. It is certainly something we all look forward to and are disappointed these activities will not be able to take place this school year.
However, much like we did with Halloween, we will have a district-wide spirit day on Friday, February 12 where students and staff are encouraged to wear red and pink to mark the occasion. In addition, classroom teachers may choose to play bingo, have Valentine’s Day story time or another socially distanced activity of their choice. More information will come at the building and classroom level.
Supply Pick Up for Virtual ONLY Learners
Please email your child's teacher with specific questions.
Online Registration
Families with existing District 15 students may register new and existing students through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. If you do not have your login, please contact our school office for assistance. If you have a child entering Kindergarten or who is in grades 3 or 6, you will need to provide proof of residency in District 15. To do this, you must come in person to your student’s home school and present the documentation outlined above.
Kindergarten registration for the 2021-22 school year opens on Monday, February 15, 2021. Children residing in District 15 boundaries who turn five-years-old on or before September 1 are eligible to attend District 15’s half-day kindergarten program. After completing the registration process, parents of kindergarten children have the option to state their preference for morning or afternoon kindergarten. Parent requests are not guaranteed and may be granted based upon space and availability.
