PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Come to the cabaret! We are excited to offer an opportunity for our performers to perform on the Lincoln stage! Though we were not able to get a traditional musical in the works, we are excited to offer a chance for our singers, dancers, musicians, and more, to perform and put on a great show for parents and families. We also welcome back Ms. Thomas in the director role. Auditions are on Thursday, February 24, and more information is posted in this newsletter and in the front commons!
The PTO has let us know that the RAOK - Random Acts of Kindness week is going great! Students in all grade levels have signed up to make a difference in the world with their random acts of kindness. We have boxes for food donations, boxes for blankets, and boxes for correspondence in the commons; but, so many more kind acts are being accomplished and logged in through the RaiseCraze.com website. The PTO says it’s not too late to participate and will continue with RAOK Week for the coming week as well! On behalf of our entire staff, I thank our PTO for the work they do to enhance the middle school experience for our Lincoln students.
Recently, Mrs. Straczek, Mr. Ruggiero, and I had an opportunity to meet with Prospect High School’s various technology staff. Lincoln’s computer education and Project Lead the Way classes are beginning the early stages of exploration as to how best to serve middle school students in the broad area of STEM education. It is no secret that technology, engineering, and computer science must be a top priority for schools that strive to deliver excellence in education. We are excited to consider the many possibilities that lie ahead for our students, and are pleased to be able to work with Prospect High School to further ensure that our students are prepared beyond District 57.
Today was an early dismissal day and school is closed on Monday, February 21, for Presidents’ Day. Lincoln families are living through a worldwide pandemic, which will be recorded as a memorable event in history. As we consider Presidents’ Day while enjoying a day off from school, I think we can add the Covid-19 pandemic to a list of many important, life-changing events in our country’s history, spanning across many, many presidencies.
Have a nice long weekend. Be thoughtful, kind, and safe.

ANIME CLUB
Ms. Schoedel invites you . . .
Come meet with other students who appreciate anime and manga. This is a safe space to talk about your interests, read manga, and connect with other like-minded students.
CLUB PARTICIPANTS LIMITED TO 11 STUDENTS.
UPDATED SPECTATOR GUIDELINES FOR LINCOLN ATHLETIC EVENTS REGARDING MASKING
As parents are aware, effective February 7, 2022, Mount Prospect School District 57 is "mask recommended" and by court order can not require our students, staff, or any individuals inside our facility to wear masks. Though District 57 is bound by the court order, other districts that our athletic teams or our spectators visit while at "away games" may not be. Therefore, if the facility Lincoln visits requires masks wearing, we must comply with mask wearing in order to attend.
PTO WANTS YOU TO KNOW . . .
KINDNESS WEEK EXTENDED! The PTO is pleased to announce that our kindness campaign is extended through next week because we believe that kindness lasts more than one week! We hope this gives your family more time to review our Acts of Kindness list and participate. Donation boxes will be available through Monday, February 28 so you have TWO more weekends to participate! Please see the attached PAPER Participation Form which mirrors our online Raise Craze website. We encourage all students to participate either with the paper form or online. Please see attachments for further information.
