Callisburg Elementary Aug./Sept. 2019

Hi, I'm Lisa Herring and I am excited to be serving as the elementary principal this year!

A little about me...

I have lived in the Callisburg area for the last 7 1/2 years. I have served here at the elementary as the 5th grade science teacher for a couple of years, then as the assistant principal last year. I live with my husband of 28 years and 3 dogs; Boone, Shorty & Ted as well as a conure parrot and a cat. We have three daughters; Hillary, Hailey & Hannah. I am a pet lover obviously, I also enjoy being outdoors, decorating, junking at the local flea markets, and spending time with my family.

I want to extend a BIG Welcome Back to School! I hope all of you had an excellent summer vacation filled with countless memories. I look forward to hearing stories from the students these first few weeks of school.

The staff thanks you for entrusting your children with us. We welcome your partnership in their education. I look forward to seeing you all on August 19th for our Meet the Teacher Night from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Please bring your child's school supplies to Meet the Teacher if you can.

See you soon!

Meet the Teacher

Monday, Aug. 19th, 5-6pm

  • Be sure to notify your child's teacher how they will be getting home on the first day of school and on a regular basis. You will need to notify the front office prior to 2:30PM if your child has a transportation change, so that Mrs. Steed can notify the teacher in a timely fashion.

  • Set up your child's lunch account
  • Check on your child's bus route

Meet the Wildcats

After Meet the Teacher, please join us for Meet the Wildcats at 7:00PM at the High School field. Sharp Oil Field Services will be providing Hot dogs, and Chicken Express will be providing drinks to the fans. The Kona snow-cone truck will also be there to purchase snow-cones if you wish. Proceeds will benefit our Wildcats!

First Day of School

Tuesday, August 20th

Doors will open at 7:20 am. In order to be "on time" students will need to arrive prior to 8:00 am. If they plan to eat breakfast they should ideally arrive no later than 7:45 am. Grades PK-2 report to the Radware gym and then can make their way to the cafeteria if they are having breakfast. If they are car riders, they will enter through the Radware entry doors. 3rd-5th graders report to the Woodbine gym. They should enter through the Woodbine building main doors. Our office will open daily at 7:20 am for school business.
