A Note From Mrs. Braaksma & Mr. Rogers:

Dear KGA Community,


It's an exciting time of year around campus! We're entering Maker Faire season, which is such a wonderful way for students to showcase their creativity and innovative ideas. Please mark your calendars to join us Friday, May 19th from 11am-1:30pm to tour campus projects and have lunch on the lawn with your child(ren). You won't want to miss it!


Teacher Appreciation Week: May 1st - 5th

Please help us celebrate our amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! PTO is providing a guide of events to spoil our teachers and we'd love to have the students' involved too. Here's a quick list for students to join in the fun!


Monday: Do or say something kind to your teacher.

Tuesday: Draw a picture for your teacher.

Wednesday: Bring a sweet or salty snack/drink for your teacher.

Thursday: Write a note that says, "My teacher is a STAR because..."

Friday: Bring a card and/or a small gift for your teacher.


PTO Elections for 2023/2024 school year:

PTO is now accepting votes for the 2023/2024 school year for all PTO Executive Board positions. There were eight parents nominated and all are represented on the election ballot. The ballot will accept votes via this Google Form from April 17, 2023 through May 5, 2023 (closes at 4pm). Your participation is encouraged!


CUSD Elementary Parent Survey:

The district is inviting all elementary school parents to complete a parent survey. It will be open and accepting responses from April 17, 2023 through May 5, 2023. Thank you for sharing the amazing things we do for your children at Knox Gifted Academy.

American Heart Association: Kids Heart Challenge

Our Kids Heart Challenge program is kicking off on April 27th! We are proud to support the American Heart Association and Be the Torch in the fight against heart disease and stroke! Students will learn how to keep their hearts happy and healthy through physical and mental wellbeing, while helping others with special hearts by raising lifesaving donations. Our goal is to have 100% of our school families join the team and learn Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission. Don’t wait, get started TODAY! Students who join the team early AND students who complete Finn’s Mission will get recognized at our kick-off!

City of Chandler's Housing Stability Donation Drive

Donation Drive to Benefit City of Chandler's Housing Stability Program

Monday, May 8th, 9am to Friday, May 19th, 4pm

Knox Gifted Academy Student Council is hosting a donation drive for the City of Chandler's Housing Stability Program from May 8th - May 19th.


We will collect items from the list below along with monetary donations that will 100% directly impact those in need in Chandler.

Big picture

The Housing Stability arm of the City of Chandler's Housing Stability department assists the homeless and those displaced by providing shelter. There has been a significant increase in need due to the pandemic. A very important part of this shelter are the items provided in a Move-In Kit. Each kit costs approximately $300 and supports a family's basic needs as they transition from homelessness to housing. Needed items include:


  • Body wash
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Plates
  • Bath & Kitchen Towels
  • Air Mattress (queen)
  • Bed Sheets (queen)
  • Bed Comforter/Blanket (queen)
  • Sleeping Pillow
  • Shower Curtain Rod
  • Plastic Shower Curtain
  • Shower Curtain Hooks


To make a monetary donation, please send an envelope to the front office with cash or check made payable to Knox Gifted Academy Student Council. All monies will be given directly to the City of Chandler Housing Stability program.
