Our bi-annual elections were held during our May meeting and new officers were nomintaed and elected to all positions. Your new PTO Executive Board is:


President- Julia Keiselbach (Xavier, PreK3, Eva, PreK4, Gabe, Kindergarten, James Gr.3)

Vice President- Cat Miller (Aiden, PreK4)

Secretary- Leah McNally (Birdie, PreK4, Dinah, Kindergarten, Aaron, Gr. 3)

Treasurer- Marian Priddy

Assistant Treasurer- Jerry Cristoforo (Emilie, Kindergarten)

Financial updates...

Wow, we had a great year! As you may know, the PTO takes on a large fundraising challenge every school year. Our efforts to raise money go towards student enrichment opportunities such as theater productions both on-site and offsite by Theater at the Mount, school buses for field trips and field day for all students as well as underwriting events such as the mother son event and the first grade Mother’s Day Tea, The PTO movie night, Design Squad, Grandparents Day, The back-to-school BBQ and many others. This year, in order to plan effectively, we voted at our September meeting to allocate funds for all of our obligations ahead of time so as to have a specific number in mind as far as a fundraising goal. Our base fundraising requirement was just under $14,000. Thanks to the efforts of our members and our St Anna families, we exceeded our goal and have been fortunate to have funds remaining at the end of the year. Our bylaws state that we must allocate all funds prior to the end of the fiscal year. With that in mind, the committee has made the prudent decision to pre-pay for some of our expenses for next school year in advance. We have allocated $4,000 towards school buses for field trips and field day, $1,500 towards the back-to-school BBQ and put the remaining monies (roughly $1,600) towards improvements to our recreational equipment. This will help the school invest in items for recesses, both indoor and outdoor. As you are aware, bad weather forces our children into the gymnasium during the cold and wet months and Mrs. French has several items she would like to purchase in order to keep that space active and engaging for them during the winter. We are very happy to help her do so.


This is also an opportune time to update you all on the state of our playground and our eventual playground reconstruction fund. Perhaps you are aware that the Worcester Diocese and Bishop McManus will be launching a campaign for the Bishops Legacy Fund this coming fall. While this campaign is not directly initiated by St. Anna Church or School, since we are all one family in the Worcester Diocese we have been asked not to launch our own capital campaign during the same time period. This puts the kick off for a new playground fund roughly at fall 2020. Yes, it is a little bit of a delay. However, we are part of a generous community and a generous parish and are very hopeful that, at the appropriate time, fundraising efforts for a new playground set to cost in the vicinity of $25,000 will take one school year or less. As we get closer to launching a campaign, you may be asked to weigh in on additional playground design options or fundraising initiatives. In the meantime, money already set aside in the playground fund may be used to repair the current playground and keep recreational equipment functional. With some of our obligations for next year already met, we are looking forward to hitting the ground running when we are cleared to raise money for a brand new play structure.


Thank you again for your generosity in all of our efforts this year. Each one of your children has directly benefited from these fundraisers and we are so happy to be able to provide enrichment programs and activities to our School!

Break out the glowsticks and neon and come have a hotdog, play some carnival games and GLOW the evening away with us!


If you would like to volunteer at the BBQ or help plan the event, be on the lookout for emails scheduling our summer planning meeting- usually in early July! We would love to have you!

Fall Comedy Night!

We are in the planning stages of a comedy show tentatively scheduled for October. This will be a fun, adults only evening to relax and laugh with a local comedian and a show tailored to our school!

Also in 2019-2020...

We will bring back calendar raffles (November/December), the amazing Pasta Supper (January) and a second edition of Supermarket Sweep (April)!
