DATA Pennies for Patients
DATA is partnering with LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) to collect pennies (or coins and bills) to help raise money for childhood blood cancer patients and research. Each student will be receiving coin boxes to take home to put their donations in.
Students can use the box to collect spare change, donations from family/friends, etc. They are to bring in what they can, because everything helps. Our goal is to raise $2,000. The donation drive starts on: Monday March 2nd and ends on March 13th, 2 weeks - to raise $$ for a great cause! The top 2 Classes earn a Pizza Party!!

Congratulations to our students who participated in Battle of the Books on Friday!
DATA’s Battle of the Books team competed all day last Friday at Sunset Elementary. The fun filled day included meeting with a featured author, Alane Adams, who charmed all the middle schoolers with her energy and tales of how she came up with her book series. There were many activities geared towards reviewing the twenty books featured in the competition. DATA had the only team with all students reaching Imperial Reader Status – meaning they read all twenty of the books and passed quizzes on each book. At the final stage of the day was the competition, a combination of short answer, multiple choice, pictures clues, and so on that was fiercely answered by the thirteen teams. It is always very exciting when the final team is announced as the winner and prizes awarded, even though everyone there behaved like a champ.
