Ranger News
Fall Break Edition
From the Principal
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family safe, happy and enjoying the wonderful weather that Hoosiers have been provided for this fall break! Though on fall break, I am looking forward to our Ranger students returning to in-person and virtual learning on Monday or Tuesday, October 19 and 20, and wanted to share information in advance of their return.
For 6th - 8th grade IN-PERSON Rangers and 7th and 8th grade VIRTUAL Rangers, the black/gold schedule has been adjusted for the second 9 weeks. In an effort to make the schedule more consistent, easier to follow and to improve teacher student contact time, Mondays and Wednesdays will be Black scheduled IN-PERSON days. Tuesday and Thursdays will be Gold scheduled IN-PERSON days. Fridays will alternate between Black and Gold schedules.
The following Fridays are BLACK scheduled, IN-PERSON days:
October 23rd, November 6th, November 20th, December 11th.
The following Fridays are GOLD scheduled, IN-PERSON days:
October 30th, November 13th, December 4th.
A copy of the revised schedule is linked here or may be found below. There are no change to the schedule of days for 5th and 6th grade VIRTUAL Rangers.
ORIENTATION. RP is planning an orientation program for students that switched from virtual to in-person school for the second quarter and planning to return on Monday or Tuesday, 10/19 or 10/20. Returning Rangers should plan on reporting to the cafeteria upon arriving at RP where they will meet with grade level counselors and administrators. Students will learn about RP expectations, receive their schedule, and take a brief tour of the school before being escorted to class. Returning students are reminded to bring their charged Chromebooks in its carrying case.
IMMUNIZATION UPDATE. Indiana requires that students attending public schools be current with immunization records. The school nurse, counselors and administrators have attempted to notify families of those students for whom records show an incomplete record of immunization according to the Indiana State requirements. Students with incomplete immunization records should not return to in-person after fall break instruction until records are either updated or documentation of an immunization appointment. Parents and caregivers should send a picture or scan immunization proof or documentation of an appointment to Nurse Lisa Stewart at lstewar1@warren.k12.in.us.
FALL SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS. Though schedules were impacted by the pandemic, Our Ranger athletes made the most of their opportunities and had a wonderful fall sports season. Highlights included:
- Our football team demolished all would be opponents this season on their way to a 6-0 record and MIIC Northern Division championship. A big thank you to our cheerleaders for their spirited support throughout the season.
- Our 7th grade volleyball team went 5-1 and earned Raymond Park a second MIIC Northern Division championship this fall.
- Our 8th grade volleyball team defeated township rival Stonybrook and competed against some of the toughest competition in the state.
- Our cross country team wrapped up an outstanding season the Saturday before break at the county championships in Decatur. Congratulations to all the runners achieving several personal records throughout the season.
- Our boys tennis finished the season with an impressive 6-1 season.
- Our township soccer and girls golf teams also excelled this fall season.
Congratulations to all athletes and coaches on an outstanding fall athletics season!
Don't forget that winter sports are around the corner. Boys basketball tryouts will start Monday, October 19th.
