Catch the Wind Weekly Bulletin

Week of 12/7 - 12/11

A Message from Principal Fraser

Dear 'Aikahi Ohana,

Our first ever Arts for 'Aikahi Festival and Concert is less than a week away! It is exciting to see the event come together and its sure to be a great experience for us all. Thank you for your support so far and I hope to see you and your family next Friday December 11th here on campus for our event! The purpose is to celebrate the arts first and foremost. Our students will get to see amazing musicians such as The Green and Kaiona, amazing hula by Aloha o Puuwailani from Kailua and 2015 Ms. Aloha Hula Jasmine Kaleihiwa Dunlap, watch a world class artist Patrick Ching as he paints a live piece, and learn from Page Change who is an amazing local artist that will teach the ancient Hawaiian practice of making kapa. Students will have the opportunity to pound metal and work with a professional black smith teacher from The Honolulu Waldorf School and play a variety of games. There will be food trucks, student art pieces displayed and even our very own choir will be performing. As we celebrate and have fun with the arts, we are also raising funds to add more music and art programs and services for our kids. If you are unable to attend the event you can make a donation to the 'Aikahi PTA. Any amount of support is greatly appreciated. Please check out our website for information on how to donate or stop by the school any time.

Please check out our new website This is another step in our efforts to improve communication. We look forward to keeping you engaged and involved with everything at school. If you notice, there is a spectacular video that we made this fall to highlight our school! We are proud to be the "A TEAM."

Have a great week!

Mr. Fraser
