Mix It Up Day
Our school will be participating in Mix It Up day at lunch. According to tolerance.org, Mix It Up day encourages students to identify, question and cross social boundaries. Students have identified the cafeteria as the place where divisions are most clearly drawn. We ask students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. It’s a simple act with profound implications. Studies have shown that interactions across group lines can help reduce prejudice. When students interact with those who are different from them, biases, and misconceptions can fall away.

Red Ribbon Week
Did You Know?: Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week the week of October 23-27. This week is meant to lead and support our nation’s families and communities in nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug free youth.
Take the pledge now and be a part of the creation of a drug free America.

Fall Fun at Eaton Middle School
On October 23rd we invite our students to hang out after school for some entertainment and learning. The event will take place from 2:30-5:30 throughout our building. Students will have the opportunity to participate in activities designed by our staff and student leaders. Most importantly, there is a chance from some free pizza! Stay tuned for more info and we hope to see everyone there.
Fun Day Fridays
EMS Peer Leaders are working hard to create a fun environment on Fridays to help get everyone through that final school-week hurdle. Every Friday we encourage everyone to rock their best purple and gold spirit wear, while rocking out to some tunes! Prizes will be awarded throughout the school year for that week's theme!
Be in the KNOW!
Know! provides parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers and other school administrators with information about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, as well as action steps they can take to help children resist peer pressure to use.
