Alan Turing
Cracker of the code!
Who was he?
Alan Turing was a crucial figure in World War Two because of one thing- the enigma code. The enigma code was a complex encryption whereby the germans would type into a strange typewriter to send a code and at the other end it would be put into a corresponding where the code would be typed in and a legible copy would be outputted and so the English and their allies couldn't just get a machine they modified the encryption every month so that it would only function for a month without the new rotor and Alan cracked it at Bletchley Park in 1932 and it was later considered one of the reasons why they won the war. However unfortunately Alan was gay and in those days it was considered illegal and he was forced to take chemicals making him infertile.
