From the desk of: Mrs. Meredith Turner, Kindergarten Teacher
Hello Evanston Families! A big welcome to all new families and a fantastic welcome back to our old friends! Kindergarten is such an amazing place! Everyday is filled with new experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. We have learned many new routines and procedures and are striving to learn our academic standards. Here’s what Kindergarten students have been working on: kindness (what it looks like and how to share it), five senses, trees, alphabet letter recognition and counting items in groups of 5. One of our favorite parts of the day includes our SOARR cheer. Say it loud and proud with us! S is for Successful- that’s just what we are! O is for Obedient- let’s raise the bar! A is for Accountable- you can count on me! R is for Respectful- that’s how I want to be! And R is for Responsible- I take care of me! Here’s to an amazing year! Let’s SOARR! Fondly, Mrs. Turner, Kindergarten Room 1026
From the desk of Ms. Amy Luck, Fourth Grade Teacher
The 4th grade class has already been working very hard in their daily learning stations this school year! They work on activities, use computers, complete puzzles, and play games involving the math and science topics they are learning. The students work together, help each other when they are struggling, and use a growth mindset when faced with a challenge. They love the activity called “House Hunters,” where they get to be realtors and look for real houses on the market! Ms. Luck is very proud of her students and she knows they will keep up the great work!☺
Vegetarian and Vegan Menus Now Available
Vegetarian and Vegan menus are available for students to pre-select at all schools. Students can request a weekly vegetarian or vegan menu directly through their lunchroom manager. Preschool families requesting a vegetarian or vegan menu can contact our Registered Dietician, Lauren Marlow - firstname.lastname@example.org - to complete the necessary forms for preschool menu substitutions.
Masks are not required, but they are recommended. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide a mask if you chose for your child to wear one. We will continue to sanitize our hands in the classrooms and before breakfast and lunch. It is encouraged that you send your child to school with a water bottle.
If a student goes home due to illness and shows symptoms, we ask that families test their student and share results. If a student or staff member tests positive, we will sanitize the entire classroom and communicate the positive case to the school community. Anyone testing positive should stay home for at least 5 days, pending symptoms lessen.
WE SOARR!! SUCCESSFUL- OBEDIENT- ACCOUNTABLE- RESPECTFUL- RESPONSIBLE
