Tison Roo News 2018-19

Week of January 28th

Welcome Back! I hope you all had a joyous and restful holiday.

Our motto for this school year is #TWAHCD -- "Your Thoughts become your Words, your words become your Actions, your actions become your Habits, your habits become your Character, and your character becomes your Destiny.

Please remember to check Skyward often to stay in the know about your child’s studies, assignments, and assessments. This school e-newsletter will help you stay informed on school activities, as well as other events and happenings. It is usually emailed through Skyward's Message Center and posted on Skyward Family Access.

Here’s to an AWESOME spring semester as we work together to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!

Sincerely,

Eric Sams

Tison Middle School Principal

You still have time to order a Tison yearbook, and it's currently the lowest price of the year since the Tison Yearbook Staff is discounting the price of the book by using proceeds from the Fall Dance -- the current cost is just $35!

Order online at https://www.balfour.com/ (scan the QR code to take you to the website)

If you'd rather not order online, students can also pick up an order envelope in the front office.

TSI Assessment @ Tison

The TSI (Texas Success Initiative) is an assessment that determines the appropriate level of college course work for an incoming student. A passing score on the TSI is required for 8th graders interested in applying for the Collegiate Academy at the Ninth Grade Center as well as dual credit classes beginning in the 10th grade year.

The TSI Assessment will be given at Tison on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM in room 302. Please click on the following link to register for the test: https://goo.gl/forms/YxD8BJfld01ravCg1.

The registration is limited to the first 25 students, or the deadline of Monday, January 28, 2019.

The reading section is the only section that is required for an 8th grade student entering the Collegiate Academy as a 9th grader. The reading portion is $7.00. Payments should be turned in to the front office. There is a pre-assessment that must be completed prior to the test. See Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Kelly for more information.

Additional testing dates will be available at Weatherford High School.

Below is a link to a document that provides information you and your student need to know before taking the TSI at Tison as well as what your student should expect on the day of the test.
