Lions Park Paw Prints
Letter from the PTO Presidents
Dear Lions Park Families,
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these times. Lions Park welcomed the in-person Hybrid students back into the school, some of which proudly wore their Lions Park masks that were provided by the PTO in the beginning of the year.
Thank you to all the creativity and dedication that the Social Connections chairs put in. The Social Connections Committee has a new event that is coming up called “Yoga and Craft”. The event is scheduled for Saturday February 6th. If you are interested in participating please visit our PTO website for further information. If you have any questions please reach out to: Vicki Chung - vickichung501@gmail.com, Patty Susmarski – pavlah1@aol.com, or Zhaleh Pylawka – znaghi1@gmail.com.
Our annual fundraiser is begins in February. Although the “Roar and Run Read” looks a little different this year, we believe this event can be enjoyed by all remote and in person learners. Please visit the website for more information.
Thank you to all of our PTO members thus far, if you have not purchased a PTO membership and would still like to, please visit https://lionsparkpto.com/product/pto-family-membership/.

LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Lions Park Families,
I hope you all stay safe and warm during what promises to be another wintry weekend! Both messages below are repeated from earlier communications, but I just wanted you to see them again in case you missed them the first time.
Placement changes for third trimester: Due by Friday, February 5th at noon
As you may remember, when you chose between a full remote and half day hybrid you were committing for the second trimester, which ends on February 19th. As this date is quickly approaching, we need to start planning for potential changes that will begin on February 22nd.
If you wish to keep your child in their current selection of half day hybrid or full day remote, there is no action needed. If you would like to change your child(ren) from half-day hybrid to full-day remote or from full-day remote to half-day hybrid starting on February 22nd, please send an email to me at kkelly@d57.org by Friday, February 5th at noon. Please state your choice and indicate AM/PM preference if requesting to move to half-day hybrid. AM/PM preferences are not guaranteed but will be honored if possible.
Please carefully consider your selection because we will be looking at our numbers on February 5th and making decisions on the number of hybrid and remote sections needed. We would not want to resection classes and change schedules based on inaccurate information and would like to minimize unnecessary disruption to students as much as possible. We are not certain what the rest of the year will hold. If the current hybrid/ remote plan remains intact, your selection for the start of the third trimester will continue throughout the rest of the school year.
Lions Park Office Hours 7:30AM-3:30PM
With our new student schedules, our Lions Park office hours have changed. The office will now be open from 7:30AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday. This will make our office hours better aligned with student learning hours, whether students are learning remotely or in person.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly

Technology Issues
Although technology can work well, there are times when it just does not work correctly. Teachers will not be available to respond to emails during instructional times. Instead, please submit a Remote Learning Technology Support form by clicking here. Once submitted, someone from our District Technology Team will contact you to provide assistance.
If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Restart the Chromebook (make sure it turns all the way off before turning back on).
Quit any unused applications.
Sign out of an application if it's not working, and sign back in.
Move closer to your internet router if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Turn off any accessibility features i.e., contrast mode, special cursor that may be set on the Chromebook. These can cause applications to run slow.
