Pickerington Residents Decide Future for Pickerington Schools
On Tuesday, May 4, Pickerington residents will have their voices heard about the future for Pickerington Schools. The Board of Education placed a bond issue on the May 4 ballot to address critical issues in our facilities and address current overcrowding that is only projected to get worse as more home construction continues in our growing community.
If the issue passes, Pickerington Schools will begin preparations to build a new junior high school, add classrooms at both high schools, create dedicated preschool and Welcome Center spaces and put into motion renovations and security upgrades that increase safety, learning spaces and capacity.
If the issue fails, the district will need to divert money from the daily operating budget in order to pursue temporary options to accommodate enrollment growth. Delaying the facility work needed will not stop the growth we are experiencing and our facility needs will continue to become even more urgent and expensive as classrooms and buildings become more crowded.
Early voting is open now and more information about voting times and options is available at: www.VoteOhio.gov. Also, if you haven't already, make sure you check out the latest "Plugged In" districtwide e-newsletter at https://www.smore.com/h5qz1.

Summer Camp Suggestions
Recreation Unlimited- Recreation Unlimited was very pleased to offer camp sessions for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2020. We are looking forward to continuing with camps and programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2021.
We have worked with the Delaware General Health Department and our medical team to determine the best protocols on running a safe camp. Commonly touched surfaces will be routinely disinfected, hand washing will be done on a regular basis, masks will be worn, physical distancing practiced, and daily temperature checks will be a few of the protocols being implemented.

DO YOU WANT SOME INPUT?
When making decisions about classroom placements, we believe it is important to provide parents the opportunity to give input into your child’s classroom placement. The information you provide should focus on your child’s specific academic needs, preferred learning styles, or other descriptive information that will enable us to better understand your child. Along with many other factors, your input will be taken into consideration to ensure the success of your child at Pickerington Elementary.
If you would like to provide some input, please complete the Class Placement form and return it to the school office by May 7, 2021. Please remember, we do not take requests for a specific teacher. As always, our primary goal is to effectively meet the academic needs of every child who attends Pickerington Elementary.
YMCA Before & After School Programming | PIckerington Local Schools 2021-2022
Hello Y-Club Families, We have missed you!
It's that time again! Registration is open for the 2021-2022 school year. Our hope is to be in 9 locations within the Pickerington Local School district for Fall of 2021. Open locations will depend on enrollment and program space at each school. If a determination is made that we will not be able to open a certain location, communication will be sent out the first week of July, 2021. We appreciate the school district's support in serving the Pickerington community for it's 29th year of before and after school programming!
Our Y Clubs include: Diley, Fairfield, Harmon, Heritage, Pickerington, Sycamore, Toll Gate, Tussing and Violet.
At time of registration a $25/child registration fee will be charged to complete the registration. You will receive a 'welcome to the program' email once your child(ren) is registered. Wait lists will be handled in the order in which the registration has been received.
Y-Club operates from 7:00 AM until School starts and from the time school releases until 6:00 PM, on any day that school is in session.

🌺 Flower Sale Update 🌺
Thank you for all your support in making this year's flower fundraiser such a huge success!
As you noticed, the flower sale is a huge undertaking and without my volunteers, the whole process of picking up orders would have taken forever. Unfortunately, a few mistakes did happen. Please double check your orders if you have not done so already. I have a few plants that need a home and a student is missing (3) #3 and (2) #11. If you have a single tomato pot, it is supposed to be a trio, please let me know. There are a few hanging baskets for sale. You can find the updated list on our Facebook page, Pickerington Elementary PTO.
Thanks again for all your support! Mr.Z would like to continue this event next year. Please share any ideas on ways to improve, what to keep, or what activities we can add with myself, PTO or Mr. Z.
Thank you,
Lisa Winters
