Did you know that Leander ISD's written curriculum is aligned and organized to support the work of the PLC?
The LISD curriculum documents are framed using the four critical questions of a PLC.
In Stage 1, you will find bold star, priority standards that help support choosing your essential outcomes (What do we want all students to know and be able to do?).
In Stage 2, recommendations for assessment evidence will help you determine how you will you know if they've learned it.
In the learning plan of Stage 3, you will find resources as you consider: How will students learn? How will we respond when students do not learn? How will we enrich and extend the learning for students that already know the content?
If the term PLC, or professional learning community is new to you, you may want to start with What is a PLC?
PLCs provide a space for educators to collaborate and discuss instructional strategies, examine student work, share data, and lean into peer expertise. Each member of a grade level or content PLC has a role and responsibility to the team. As our newest educators, you definitely play an important role in raising student achievement. You may bring new research and emerging technology tools for the classroom or fresh eyes on the student perspective. All members of a PLC should be committed to support each other’s success and the success of all students.
Wondering what LISD believes about PLCs or what tools/resources are available to support them? Check out the LISD PLC Resources website.
