The ASOT Reflection
Region 9 High Reliability Schools-May 2020
Take Care of Yourself!
This time of year is always hectic, but it can be even more draining in this new season of change and challenge. Be sure to take time for yourself and to take care of yourself! Take a look at the newsletter below for ideas on what this might look like right now.
Summer Professional Development
Due to the uncertainty of our current situation, Region 9 staff has been hard at work adjusting and modifying summer professional development to meet the needs of teachers, administrators and staff during this time. Most face-to-face sessions in June (and many in July) have been rescheduled or adapted to a digital format of some kind.
The HRS Team has updated our summer PD list to reflect the changes made. Click on the picture below for the full document.
Suggestions for Summer PD
While we feel we have an adequate list of trainings for this summer, we know that your needs as a campus or district are constantly changing. We want to help meet those needs. Please fill out the form below to give us any ideas you have regarding additional trainings you would like to see offered, and we will do our best to make them happen.
Tina H. Boogren: 180 Days of Self-Care for Busy Educators
Dr. Tina Boogren, author of Take Time for You and 180 Days of Self-Care for Busy Educators, will be at Region 9 July 28 for Session #360950. During this session, she will help participants understand how prioritizing self-care can positively impact student learning and achievement and to help educators lead a happier, healthier, more fulfilled life inside and outside of the classroom.
Resources by the Element
We've recently revamped this resource for you to make it even easier to use. Now, instead of seeing old newsletters with outdated information, you'll find only the information pertaining to the elements. This should help you use this resource with your colleagues, in PLC meetings, at staff meetings, etc. We will continue to add resources until all of the 43 elements are covered.
Resource: R9 HRS Site
Don't forget about our website, which you can find at bit.ly/R9HRS. There is a tab just for you as an ASOT teacher complete with files and documents that will help you reach your goals. We are constantly updating the site are especially proud of the Resources by Element document that you can find under the Resources tab (or click the document below). This is a great way to find ideas for how to implement the goal you set for yourself for next year.
