Boy Scout Troop 434 (St. John)
Concerned about too much screen time for your boys? Are your children looking for new fun-filled adventures? Several of St. George Catholic School's students participate in the nearby Cub and Boy Scout program sponsored by Saint John the Apostle Parish in North Richland Hills. In 2018, the Scouts’ activities ranged from the Cub Scouts of Pack 434 preparing and distributing basic needs packages with their families for the homeless to the older Boy Scouts of Troop 434 summer camping in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A trout fishing campout south of Waco is planned for the weekend of February 9 & 10.
Cub Scout Pack 434 invites boys from 1st through 5th grade to join them; Boy Scout Troop 434 welcomes older boys ages 11-18. Through service initiatives, merit badge achievements and leadership positions, Boy Scouts of Troop 434 have had a very successful track record of reaching the Eagle Scout rank – one of the few achievements under the age of 18 that will continue to be on one’s resume even decades later in life. Join us every Monday at 7:00 pm in the meeting room next to St. John’s gym (address 7341 Glenview Drive, NRH 76180). For more information, please feel free to contact Jason Gehrig , at jfgehrig@yahoo.com or 817-614-2206.

On Saturday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Mount St. Michael Catholic School will host the First Annual Youth Apologetics Symposium. This event is geared toward middle-school, high-school, and college-age students and will address head-on the challenging and sometimes confusing issues surrounding human sexuality, and unveiling God's perfect plan for each of us. Join them as they explore these issues in an open dialogue that allows youth to gain a deeper understanding of what the Catholic Church teaches and why living according to these teachings is the only true path to happiness and ultimately salvation.
