Mitten Project – Helping Doyle Families in Need

Staff and students of Doyle Elementary School will be participating in a “Giving Project” again this year. Our goal is to provide food and gifts for Doyle families who need extra support.

Starting December 5, there will be a display of colorful paper mittens on the wall inside the main entrance of Doyle. Each mitten describes a special gift for a child or adult who is a recipient of the project. If your family would like to purchase a gift for this project, please stop in and visit Doyle to select a mitten. After you take a mitten, you should buy the gift item listed, wrap it, and attach the mitten to the gift, so that it can be distributed properly. All donated gifts need to be brought to Doyle by Thursday, December 15, 2022. If your family would rather donate a monetary gift, please make checks payable to the Doyle Elementary School Activity Account and write “Mitten Project” in the memo. This money will be used to purchase extra food items or other gifts, as needed.

Thank you for your support in making an effort to help members of our Doyle community. If you have any questions, please call Tracy Kowalchick at 267-893-4335

This week, our students are demonstrating the skill of self-reflection and goal setting, as we complete trimester 1 and prepare for trimester 2. What a great way to celebrate their progress and prepare for the next trimester.

Pie Face Showdown

Congratulations to Jenna, Lilianna, and Lily for being the top pie sellers in 6th grade. The girls enjoyed a fun game of Pie Face Showdown with Mrs. Fantaskey on Friday...and after many trials, Mrs. Fantaskey was "pie-faced!" We had so much fun!

Lunches for Teachers

We are excited to bring back a Doyle tradition by hosting a luncheon for our teachers and staff during winter conferences.

The luncheon will be held this year on Monday, December 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM for staff to grab in between parent conferences.

Please sign up for one of the slots to bring homemade soup or chili. We also need salads, breads, drinks, desserts and other items all to be dropped off or sent in with your student before 11:00 AM on the 12th. Thanks for helping us make this a SOUPER event.

Home and School Needs Volunteers!

See below a SignUp Genius link to several key committees who need volunteers this year. Please select those which appeal to you and the coordinator will reach out to tell you more about the commitment details.

If one of these are not a match we have so many other ways to help such as donating food, gift cards, making calls to local businesses for a donation, homeroom parent volunteers, baking treats, donating a game or craft, providing graphic design for an event or more so please just email us and let us know what works best for you at doylehsa@gmail.com. We will be sending other links and sign ups through the year on the Eagle Flyer or Facebook.
