2nd Annual Sock Drive for the Homeless Has Been Extended!

TAB Club is sponsoring our annual Sock Drive through December 20th. Donate a pair of new socks in any size to help out the homeless in our area. If you donate two or more pairs, students can clear library book fines. Students can bring donations to the Library.

Earn Community Service Hours in the Library

Join us this Friday, December 6th, from 3-5 pm, for a Holiday movie and card making. Students will have the opportunity to make cards for the homeless served by our Sock Drive. See you there Titans!

New York Times (NYT) Contest for December

Link something you are studying in school to the world today and be eligible to have your work published in the NYT! Click here for the guidelines. Students who are ages 13 - 19 from anywhere in the world can participate. The deadline for this contest is Jan. 21, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Student Poster Contest @yourLibraryRules

Create an award-winning poster for the California School Library Association’s Student Poster Contest. The contest will focus on CSLA’s key message: “Strong School Libraries Build Strong Students and Lifelong Learners.” Your artwork may be displayed in our state office in Sacramento and on the CSLA website, as well as used on CSLA publications and products. English 9 and 10 Students Practice Their Information Literacy Skills

In the Library this week, English 9 and 10 students are practicing their information literacy skills in preparation for their final Greek Mythology and Argumentative Essay projects. Students are learning how to access, search, organize, and use information correctly and efficiently. These are vital skills for their future. Textbook Returns: Avoid Fines in the New Year!

The semester is ending and teachers will be bringing their classes to the Library to return books. Please make sure that your favorite Titan returns all textbooks during textbook return week: December 16th -20th. This will help them avoid fines and ensure that we have enough books for students in the Spring term. Thank you!

New Arrivals!

Check out our new arrivals, popular titles, and important library links! We get twelve new, award winning titles in every month, and we also take student suggestions. Come and check them out on the new arrival display bookshelf!


Read the three nominated books in the Young Adult category from the following Book List and then vote for your favorite title. Ballots will be cast in March 2020. A celebration party will be held for those students who complete the challenge. Stay tuned for dates. Food and prizes will be given out and a Battle of the Books contest will be held. Start reading Titans! See Mrs. McCoy to access the books.

Does your teen need a quiet place to study? Does your teen need tutoring after school?

ALL has started! Join us in the AnHS Library, after school, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:35 to 4:00 pm. Students can get help in all subjects, use computers, printers, and calculators, and access Library Resources.

We can even provide documentation for the time the student attended. Just have them ask Mrs. Reynolds or Mrs. Gorkhali for an ALL attendance slip. We are ALL in for student learning and success here at Antelope High School.

Access 53 ebook titles targeting many aspects of mental health that youth face today. Students can read the books for personal support, research on a topic, or for supporting other youth. The username and password can be accessed here using the student's school log-in.


Search for books from home using our OPAC. Place a hold on your favorite titles. Pick up your requested book(s) at the Library Circulation Desk.


Need a vetted source for a school project or paper? Access a variety of quality and credible sources right from home on the AnHS Library Webpage.


Need to find current articles in English or Spanish? Visit the Sacramento Bee News in Education website and log in as a student using the AnHS Class ID #2843 and password lewis found on our Library website under electronic resources. Once you log in as a student select "Read Today's Paper" to choose The Sacramento Bee or El Nuevo Herald. You can also access many other student resources on their website.

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Club will hold its fourth meeting of the year on 12/10/19. TAB provides students with the opportunity to participate in community service, leadership opportunities, and the promotion and celebration of everything library, by and for teens.
