Spring Track 2023

Dear Chatsworth Families,

Track Season is quickly approaching. The intended start date will be March 20th (weather pending). Any student interested in participating must have a physical completed by the doctor and then approved by the school doctor to be able to participate. Forms are available on the school’s website www.woodlandboe.org under the “Sports and Clubs” tab.

*Please feel free to contact the nurse with any questions in regards to these forms.

**Required paperwork to be submitted in order to participate:

1- History Form, Physical Exam/Clearance packet

2- Health History Update form

3- Sudden Cardiac Death Pamphlet, Sports Related Concussion and Head Injury, Opioid Drugs, and Sports Related Eye Injury Sign Off sheet

4- Track Rules and Regulations form and permission slip

**All paperwork will be accepted until Friday, February 27th. No paperwork will be accepted after this date for participation in Spring Track 2023.

This year the Track Program is open to all students grades 5th through 8th who have maintained all academic requirements for their classes. Practice will take place Monday through Thursday until 4:30 p.m. Please be sure to pick your child up promptly after practice and meets. Parents are asked to join Remind for notifications on meets and any changes.

You do not need to be a great runner to come out for the team. We all practice together, but when we compete in meets against other schools, you are divided into boys and girls for each event. Fifth and sixth graders run together and seventh and eighth graders run together. Track events include 100m, 200m, 800m, 1600 (one mile) run, relay, long jump, and shot put.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Attached is an anticipated schedule for the season. Please note, the schedule is subject to change.

Thank you and I look forward to a great season!

Sincerely,
