Welcome to this week!

HELLO WOLF PACK STUDENTS AND FAMILIES,

Welcome to this LAST week of the 2020-21 School Year and the final edition of the Wolf Call Weekly for the 2020-21 School Year.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of our school, we want to thank you for your patience, perseverance and continuous support as we all navigated truly “unchartered waters” this year. While we still have one more week left before our students’ last day this quarter, we wanted to share important information.

We hope your participation as an active reader of these communications has helped bridge our communication between WHHS and Students & Families. Thank you for your continued support for all students at West Hills!

WHHS Administration,

Robin Ballarin, Principal

Apri Baker, Assistant Principal (A-G)

"For every August 10th, there is always a June 4th."

Former longtime and founding West Hills High School English Teacher Mr. Charles "Chuck" Hoadley. Mr. Hoadley always began and ended the school year with this quote on the first and last day of class. On June 4th, we will end our 2020-21 school year.

2021-22 School Year Info

Dear West Hills Students and Parents:

On behalf of the faculty and staff of our school, I want to thank you for your patience, perseverance and continuous support as we all navigated truly “unchartered waters” this year. While we still have a few weeks left before our students’ last day this quarter, I wanted to share with you information about next school year.

Chromebooks: Continuing students keep their Chromebook throughout the summer. If for any reason you would like West Hills to store your Chromebook over the summer, please bring it to our Librarian, Mrs. Sannwald in the Library.

Schedule: We plan to return to our regular two semester schedule with a 7 period day. You can see a draft of that bell schedule here. The reason it is a “draft” is because we have not finalized our special Assembly days and identified all of our minimum days. Once we know those, we will update this schedule and send it out again. Please note many important dates are listed on this schedule including late start Mondays, some minimum days, Final Exam days and holidays, as well as Graduation for the Class of 2022 for your long term planning.

First Day of School for All students: Tuesday, Aug. 10

Helping Our Wolf pups Learn (HOWL Orientation Day for Class of 2024 (gr.10) and Class 2025 (gr. 9): two separate sessions on Thurs. Aug. 5. (more details to come via email)

HOWL Parent night (optional): Thursday, Aug. 5, 6:00 pm. In our Gym

Business Day: Bring in verification of residency, purchase ASB cards and optional PE clothes, etc: Wednesday, Aug. 4 (more details to come via email)

We remain open all summer as we work diligently to begin the new school year prepared and ready for the successes and challenges to come! May you and yours have a terrific summer and may all of our public health continue to improve so we can return rested and ready for the 2021-22 school year. With great gratitude--Go Wolf Pack!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Robin Ballarin

Principal

Just a Reminder...

That we are coming to the close of quarter 4 and the end of our school year on June 4 (Senior activities and Graduation the following week). Check with your teachers if you are struggling and go to Tutoring if needed. (see link below) Every student needs to earn a "D" or better to earn credit in a course (a "C" or better if you want to enter a 4 year college or University from high school). Anyone who has not passed a class is being enrolled in summer school.

Please look in your portal or your email for previous details regarding summer school information.

Thank you Wolf Pack and finish strong!

Graduation Update

Graduation is almost here!

Graduation Rehearsal update: There is no formal graduation rehearsal. Please see THIS video since we aren't having a rehearsal this year. Also see THIS DOCUMENT for more information.

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2021 on your upcoming graduation! Please see this information for students and this information for parents and guests for critical updates including limited tickets to attend graduation. (BUT we have a LIVE STREAM available) and what to do about parking (do NOT park on Mast Blvd. You will get a ticket!)

We are VERY EXCITED to be able to hold a single Graduation Ceremony this year given the improved public health conditions. We still have requirements for social distancing, wearing of face masks, and no congregating on campus before or after the ceremony, but WE CAN CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS and your "walk across the stage"!

We will be sending out more information to Seniors regarding the ceremony itself so please be on the lookout for that in the next two weeks.

Finish strong Seniors....Go Wolf Pack!

Senior Chromebook Update

*Wolf Pack Seniors Only* This must be done in order to pick up your cap and gown, and walk in graduation!!! If not completed by June 2, 2021, you will be issued a fine for your chromebook.

  • OPTION A: Buy your Chromebook for $20
  • OPTION B: Return your Chromebook and charger to the WHHS Library because you won't need it for classes (you use another computer through the end of June to stay in touch) and you do not intend to buy it.
  • OPTION C: Make special arrangements with the WHHS Library by Friday, May 28th if you need to keep it for classes but you do not intend to own it.
