Getting the most out of your Google search
Everyone knows how to Google, not everyone knows how to get the best results. Here are some hints and tricks to help you out.
Quotation Marks
Use quotes to search for an exact phrase or set of words. Also helpful when searching for lyrics.
"To be or not to be"
Dashes
Put a dash before a word that you want to exclude in your search.
jaguar -animal
Tilde
Use a tilde before a term to include results with its synonym.
Christmas ~dessert
Site:query
Use site: to search within a certain website
site:nytimes.com
Two periods ..
Use .. between two numbers to express range of things like dates, measurements and prices.
movies 1950..1970
related:query
Use related: to find sites that are related to a specific site.
related:appstorm.net
