Find Lessons
You've heard the expression, "Don't reinvent the wheel." The same can be said of lesson plans. Chances are, if you're looking for a lesson on a specific topic, someone has already created one... or thousands. Teachers Pay Teachers is a great resource for lessons and activities for all grades and subject areas and many are FREE.
Use a Planner
Planbook is an online planning site that costs $12/year, which is well worth the money, in my opinion. Planbook works well for both elementary and secondary teachers, as it supports a variety of schedules, allowing teachers to plan by day, week, subject, or period. When creating your lesson plans with the site, you're able to connect to Indiana standards, attach files, share with others if you wish, and re-use lessons from year to year.

Also, don't forget to purge from time to time. Teachers are hoarders by nature, and we tend to want to keep EVERYTHING. However, if you don't need it or haven't used it in a year, get rid of it!

*If you frequently have "extra" time in the day/ class period, you may need to rethink your lessons and have other activities ready to implement.
