The WJHS Panther Update
October 20, 2023
Principal's Letter
Panther Families,
Our Panther Pride is alive and stronger than ever! It was wonderful to see all of the student camaraderie and school spirit displayed at our girl's basketball game on Tuesday. WJHS is an amazing place to be, and I hope to see that same level of spirit at our games to come.
Todays school wide assembly was cancelled. Unfortunately our guest speaker, Greg Czaczkowski, of the DEA, had to cancel last minute. We hope to reschedule in the near future and have him here soon.

Links to individual teachers conferences can be found here. If you sign up for a virtual conference on Friday, please make certain that you have the correct link prior to your conferences and to enter the virtual waiting room at the exact time of your conferences. This will ensure our conferences are run in a timely manner for all. Students are encouraged to attend the conference with their parent.
Not feeling well at school?? Lately we have an increasing number of students who are calling or texting home when they are not feeling well. Friendly reminder that our school policy is that parents are to speak to an adult at school before coming and picking their student up.
Halloween Costumes- Students are encouraged to wear costumes to school on Halloween as we are having a costume contest in the morning before school. Masks can be brought and worn for the contest, but not during the school day. Face make up is allowed. No fake weapons are allowed.
Parent/Guardian Book Club: Ms. Quattrone will be hosting a book club for parents/guardians of WJHS students. She is looking forward to building relationships with all of you through your mutual love of reading while talking about all things middle school! The first meeting will be held Nov. 8th, from 6-7 pm (before our PTO Meeting)in the WJHS Media Center to discuss the first 6 chapters. We will then decide on two future dates - one to discuss chapters 7 -13 and another to discuss chapter 14 - end.
The book we will be reading is Middle School Matters: The 10 Key Skills Kids Need to Thrive in Middle School and Beyond - and How Parents Can Help. This book can be purchased at bookstores or here on Amazon or Target. Depending upon the number of attendees, we may move the venue, but for now, the first meeting will be held at the Jr. High. Please complete this Google form to RSVP to Ms. Q.
Student Council "Socktober" You still have time to donate new or gently used socks. There is a collection the box in the front office of WJHS.

This years Trunk or Treat was a great success. Rainy chilly weather didn't keep these kids from having a great time. Check out some of the fun that was had by all.
