From Our Principal
Dear Roadrunner Families,
It’s been a fabulous year of learning and growing for our students. As you move into the summer, please make time for play. Get your kiddos outside, into nature, on the grass, in the yard. Play is children’s work and children need lots of time to work during the summer.
As you spend time with your children, notice their deeper questions. Ask them what great question they asked today. Encourage an inquisitive mindset.
We are already planning for and looking forward to welcoming our kids back in August. Please keep your eye on our website for information about important dates and classroom supply lists.
Happy reading, writing, thinking, talking, and playing with your children.

Notes from the School Nurse
As the end of the year approaches, I will be sending notes home with students that have medication in the clinic for parents to designate how they want the medication returned on the last day of school (with the student or parent pick up). Also, if students will continue to need medication at school next year, parent and physician paperwork needs to be completed every school year. All forms can be found on the HSE website. Click on parents, then on the left is Health Services. Health forms include: asthma, severe allergy, and cafeteria restrictions and medication guidelines (this form is used for daily medication or medication needing to be kept at school). All HSE schools use the same paperwork, so this can be completed even if you are changing schools and have your physician complete over the summer months and returned to the school nurse at the beginning of school in August.
With summer activities starting, just a reminder to our students and parents to have fun but, also, to be safe. Riley Hospital has some great online resources at rileysafetystore.org. It includes info on sun & water safety, bike safety and how to properly fit a helmet. Enjoy your summer!
