Thank you to our families and friends of Green Meadows Middle School who contributed food and supplies for our winter dance on Friday, February 17th. The students had a fantastic time and the masquerade themed party was a huge hit! Students enjoyed dancing, pizza, snacks, drinks and the popular photo booth that captured many memories of the evening.

Meet Sara Wright- Math Instructional Coach
Hello Green Meadows Community,
I am happy to be working at Green Meadows this school year. My role at Green Meadows is to support teachers in implementing high quality math instruction so our students become great mathematicians and worldly problem solvers.
Thank you for reading, and for your support at home!
Student Highlight: Meet Danny D.
Danny is a 3rd grade student in Mrs. Shimanski's class. Danny gets "fired up" when he works on challenging problems. He thinks that 3rd grade math is exciting because it is exciting to learn new strategies. He wants the Green Meadows community to know "I like partnering in math because we get to work together. I am a good math partner!"
Teacher Highlight: Meet Mrs. Noel
I have taught 4th grade math for 23 years and I have never enjoyed teaching math more than I do today. In regard to the new math curriculum, not only is it the most rigorous curriculum that we have ever had; it is the best math curriculum that our district has ever had. They are being challenged each and every day. They are expected to get out of their comfort zone, think independently, and persevere. They understand that they are doing hard things and because of this challenge, they feel intellectually empowered. Students are more enthusiastic about learning math than they ever have been in the past.
Math Work Highlight
This is Wipe Book. Wipe books are being used in our classrooms for students to collaborate and problem solve in groups. Research shows that students are more successful problem solvers when they work in collaborative groups, on non-permanent surfaces! This is an example of a 4th grade group solving a problem involving addition of four numbers. You can see how this group of students collaborated and worked together to represent their solution to the problem!
Math Resources
