NEWS FROM DR. CHAUSSEE
Questions to ask your kids instead of how was your day…
I shared this list about 2 ½ years ago and I think it’s a good set of questions for parents. I find these questions to be very helpful as a parent. I remember asking my kids frequently how their day at school was and always got the same mundane responses. A more complete list can be found at the blog My View from Home. Try one of these questions:
1. What or who made you laugh today?
2. Was there an example of unkindness? How did you respond?
3. Does everyone have a friend at recess?
4. What was the book about that your teacher read?
5. Did anyone do anything silly to make you laugh?
6. Did anyone cry?
7. What did you do that was creative?
8. What is the most popular game at recess?
9. What was the best thing that happened today?
10. Did you help anyone today?
11. Did you tell anyone “thank you?”
12. Who did you sit with at lunch?
LUNCH AT ABBOTT
Returning to Lunch…
Parents and guardians,
With Covid numbers dropping schools would appear to be safer and a gradual return to some of what we did prior to Covid such as parents eating lunch at school. Life is unpredictable as we’ve all learned the last two years with Covid so we don’t want to rush this. We will start gradually allowing visitors at lunch on March 14. Initially, only one parent will be allowed per student and only two parents per grade level lunch. The level of interest will dictate what we do after the first two weeks of this.
