CALLING ALL CONNECTIONS!
Dr. James Perkins
Dr. James Perkins, a recent visitor to our campus, sent a link to his blog post about BCA detailing his impressions from the visit. It's rather good, and we have made a valuable international educator contact. Thank you to all who helped him feel welcomed, and providing us with the opportunity for a productive time.
COLLIDE & COLLABORATE
At the last faculty meeting Russ had discussed the concept of Collide & Collaborate, check out this link to an article about this concept happening at a variety of workplaces.

AVPA - Music Day
On October 21 AVPA-M held a Music Day event. The day began with a breakfast sponsored by PAPA (Parents and Patrons of the Arts). Students had a vocal workshop with Hanne Dollase and a Baroque violin clinic and student masterclass with Dr. Agnes Simkens. The alumni chat session followed and we welcomed Katie Cooke, Nick Rifken, Sam Fishman, Sam Roney and Aileen Raya. The day concluded with a mini recital on stage. (submitted by Michael Lemma)
RETIREE HIGHLIGHTS
Kathleen and Vernon Koontz
I recently reached out to Kathleen and asked her to share a little bit about what she has been up to since retiring from BCA, and well, in wonderful Kathleen fashion she put together this poem to share with everyone.
Since I retired from teaching, it is has been ten years.
Time has gone by so quickly with many more smiles than tears.
Choosing to move to Florida has provided its ups and downs.
Venice is an ideal home, surrounded by several lovely towns,
Quaint little shops, perfect weather with the gulf beaches so near.
Throughout the year activities abound, bringing us much cheer.
We have enjoyed shows at the VanWezel and the theater in Venice.
Knowing me, you can be assured, I have not played golf or tennis.
To Selby Gardens and The Ringling Museum we have enjoyed
Bringing our visiting guests; it is such fun being unemployed.
Also using my free time, I have been creating poems, watercolors, and cards.
Receiving inspiration from the lush foliage and tropical birds in our backyard.
Missing BCA and everyone; wishing all of you a beautiful fall
And also a school year that will surpass them all!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
