Cumberland Valley High School's FFA Leadership Committee recently planned an Agricultural Sciences Signing Day to celebrate the Class of 2023 and their future plans. Seniors in the program shared their intentions to enroll, enlist, or directly enter the workforce (employ), all using the skills they gained from their Agricultural coursework during high school.

Community Service Project Supports Disabled Veterans
Please help us give a huge #CVshoutout to Cumberland Valley High School’s Olivia Underkofler and Cara Morrison, CVHS Patriots Club members, who spearheaded efforts at the school to collect cases of bottled water and snack bags for disabled Veterans and volunteers from across the state who were participating in a two-day fly-fishing event. The event is organized by Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Harrisburg chapter. Olivia and Cara organized the community service project with support of CV High School's Patriots Club and National Honor Society.
Robert Shaw, a math teacher at CVHS and volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, said that the honored Veterans were expressing their gratitude all weekend for our students and their efforts.

Portrait of an Eagle: Student Spotlight
To celebrate National Poetry Month in April, many of our Eagle View students came together in the IMC to participate in Poetry Open Mic sessions. Students demonstrated exceptional communication skills by presenting poems they wrote or by reading a poem from a published poet who has inspired them. Shared poems ranged from funny riddles to personal epiphanies.
Said Mrs. Shaw, Eagle View Teacher Librarian, "As a group, the students encouraged each with gentle applause, empathetic comments, and personal connections. It was truly inspiring to see students connect over shared emotions and experiences! A poetry Quizizz contest and Poetry Bingo also allowed students to display their confidence with the vocabulary and concepts unique to poetry. " They are a Portrait of an Eagle!
