This week we had Jacie Roberts lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, she is a member of our Leadership Class, and Brielle Rowley sang the National Anthem. Both did a great job!

CCR'S

Parents & Students are invited to meet with their Counselor for an individual CCR (College & Career Readiness) meeting. This is a great opportunity to discuss high school graduation requirements, post secondary education and the many programs that guide these future goals. Please refer to the email sent out on November 5th for details/signups or contact the Counseling Center @ 801-798-4081

FCCLA Fundraiser

Spanish Fork Jr High's FCCLA chapter is selling socks to support We Help Two's Socks for Legs Campaign. Every 90 packages of socks sold will provide a prosthetic leg for someone in need. Our goal is to sell enough socks to provide at least one prosthetic leg. We will also receive one pair of socks per package sold that we can donate to local needs. Please help us meet our goal by going to https://go.wehelptwo.com/campaign/?campaignid=13654 and buying a package of socks.

Step-families

Did you know that one in three children currently live in a stepfamily? This includes many of the children within the Nebo school district. Utah State University's "Healthy Relationships Utah" has developed a program specifically for this underserved population and we'd love your help spreading the word. Smart Steps is a free, research-based curriculum that parents can attend virtually or in-person.

Throughout this course, facilitators teach evidence-based strategies on increasing family unity, empathy led discipline, family finances, strengthening the couple relationship, healthy co-parenting, and stress management. Stepfamilies face unique challenges but we're here to help.

Many schools have connected their families to this great resource by adding our virtual flier to their monthly newsletter, posting it on each school's website, or through announcement systems such as Peachjar. Would it be possible for you to do that for the families you serve? If so, let me know and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have moving forward.

Thank you for the work you do every day for the kids in your care.

Lobo Way Characteristic Focus this week

- Give honest feedback to others and accept feedback when it is given

Detention E-mails

Parents and Students,

We are sending out detention notices by e-mail one a weekly basis. Students are allowed 4 free tardies since school started before they have to start serving detention. Here is a break down of how it works:

-On the 3rd tardy and everyone after that the students will need to serve 15 min. of detention for each one.

- Late tardy = 30 min. detention

-Sluff = 1 hour of detention

Detention is not given to students for unexcused abscences at this time.

Students are expected to follow the directions on the e-mail sent to them.

Any student with unserved detentions will not be allowed to participate in field trips, school activities or sports. Students will have to have all detentions made up before they can go to Lagoon. We are tentatively planning to go the last week of school!
