Kuna families,
We reach out often about opportunities for you to get involved because we want your input to make good decisions that impact our families and staff. We do that in a variety of ways -- surveys, special events, specific actions, and workgroups.
This week, I have several to share with you and invite you to weigh in!
⌨️ Your feedback sought to help shape school calendar recommendations
Last spring, the school board approved two school year calendars: one for this year 2022-23 and for next year 2023-24.
A committee of parents, teachers, and administrators is working on recommendations for the school years 2024-25 and 2025-26 and seeks your feedback on some key issues including the early October vacation, whether to research a four-day week for students, and when to schedule spring break.
The committee has a short survey that takes about 6 minutes to complete. They appreciate your time giving feedback.
🙋🙋🙋 Join committees
Growth committee meets Thursday 6 p.m.
KSD's Director of Strategic Partnerships Danielle Horras is coordinating the work of this committee which discusses growth in Kuna and how to best provide feedback about plans to decision makers. The committee is open to all and will meet again Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at Swan Falls High School.
➡️ If you need more information on the Growth Committee, please email Danielle.
Policy Committee
The deadline to apply for this committee is Thursday, March 9. The Board seeks volunteers for a new committee to review and make recommendation on the policies that govern the school district.
Parent/Teacher Communication Committee
Earlier this year, teachers piloted a two-way communication tool for parents called REACH, and it didn't meet their expectations. A committee of teachers and parents will meet monthly to identify expectations for communication and discuss tools to support those expectations.
🗳️ Early in person voting starts Monday! Vote-by-mail requests due next Friday
The Kuna School District bond election is fast approaching. There are three options to participate:
☑️ Vote by mail: Requests due 5 p.m. March 3
