Nurse's Notes
1. We are still hoping for updates on the final few emergency forms. If you received a notice this week about your child’s emergency form, please complete the forms online through the Parent Portal ASAP.
2. If your child has a serious medical condition such as Asthma, Anaphylaxis (severe allergy) or Seizure Disorder, we hope that you will provide guidance to us in the form of an Action Plan. We are best prepared if we have emergency medications on hand at school as well. PISD requires that the plans be updated yearly at the start of the school year. Forms are available at: https://www.pisd.edu/Page/1697
3. Please advise us if your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease. We do track trends of illness and work to prevent the spread of common illnesses. Strep throat, flu, chicken pox, whooping cough, staph infection, fifth’s disease and head lice are among the diseases that we monitor. The school nurse will advise you about return to school after illness.
4. Our normal criteria for keeping children home from school includes fever greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, vomiting and diarrhea. Students should remain home for 24 hours after the fever is gone and with no vomiting or diarrhea. Students should be able to eat their normal meals without feeling ill.
Anytime you are unsure about whether or not your child is well enough to attend school, feel free to contact Miss Grace by phone at 469-752-0609 or e-mail at Judith.grace@pisd.edu.
Friendly Reminders
Phone Messages
Each staff member has a voice mailbox and email. They will make every effort to check their messages throughout the day, but often times, they are unable to do so until their planning time or at the end of the day because they are away from their desk working with students. Consequently, it is necessary to send a note with your child explaining any transportation changes. Messages to the teacher are delivered only in the event of an emergency. Before leaving home for the day, teach your child to double-check for important notes to the teacher, homework, lunch, library books, etc., before they leave home. If you must deliver any of these items, please write your child’s name and teacher’s name on the forgotten item and leave in the office. Office staff will place it in the appropriate grade level box located in the main office. Visitors may not interrupt student instructional time to drop off these items. After dismissal, if you child has forgotten an item (book, jacket, homework assignment, etc.) building access is available until 3:30 p.m. For the safety and security of PASAR students, only parents picking up PASAR students will be admitted after 3:30 p.m.

A New Face at Carlisle......
Greetings Carlisle Coyotes,
My name is Laura Villanueva, and I just started working as a Teaching Assistant at Carlisle. Before transferring to Carlisle, I worked at Jackson Elementary for three years. Because I like spending time with children, I’ve worked in different children departments at my church for about 10 years. I feel very happy and blessed to be part of the Carlisle community and staff.
I am from Mexico and my husband (who I met at church) is from Peru; as you can imagine a fun mix of traditions and foods ☺. We have two wonderful kids. A girl in fifth grade and a boy in fourth grade who have been attending Carlisle for four years.
I look forward to working with such a wonderful community and making good things happen☺. I hope I get to see each of you more often and say “Hello”.
