Reminders for Car Riders, Walkers, and about Breakfast
We have important reminders for our students to do their BESt before and after school and during breakfast.
Car Riders, please remember that the loop opens at 8:45 am, and drop-off starts at 8:50 when supervision is available. Please do not leave your student(s) unattended in the mornings. For pick-up after school, the loop opens at 3:25 pm. Please ensure your hanging tag is displayed with the number visible during pick-up. If you do not have your hanging tag, you must come into the office to check your student out.
Walkers, please follow the designated route to and from school. Traffic directions, speed limits, as well as safe pick-up and delivery, are the responsibility of everyone. Cars may not enter the street when the blockade is up for walkers. Students can only be dropped off and picked up at their designated area.
Students who wish to eat free breakfast at school must arrive at the cafeteria by 9:05 am, and students who come to the cafe after 9 am will receive a grab-and-go breakfast to bring to class. This will ensure that our students arrive to class on time and be their BESt.
If you need to call the school to let us know that your student will be going home other than their usual way, please do so before 2 pm. This will ensure that we have enough time to notify their teacher.
Buster Bucks Store Open Friday
If you need to report an absence, please call our student sick line at 386-437-7537
or by emailing besattendance@flaglerschools.com
Parents will be notified by letter when a child has accumulated five (5) and ten (10) unexcused absences during a 90-calendar day period. After the 10th unexcused absence, we will schedule a meeting with the parent and the Student Success Team to discuss the truancy problem, compulsory attendance laws, review educational records, and teacher observations. After the meeting, the student and school staff may develop a behavioral contract. If the student continues to accumulate unexcused absences, the Student Success Team shall make a referral to the District Office for assistance and possible home visitation. The parent may be referred to the Court if compliance still needs to be achieved.
