Congratulations Sheri Wadsworth! Power of 1 Recipient!
Mrs. Wadsworth is more than deserving of the Power of 1 award! She is hard working, supportive, inclusive, and encouraging. With a large class of 29 students, it would be easy to feel discouraged, frustrated, and defeated; however, Sheri always puts her best foot forward and is constantly thinking of how she can make her classroom more inclusive and inviting. Her room is a safe-haven. Her room is a home.
Sheri goes above and beyond for students who require additional assistance and intervention, and never gives up on them. She consistently tries new ways to motivate and encourage her students, as well as, staff. She is dependable and determined to make every second grader's experience at Sequiota a memorable one, and strives for nothing less. Her students respect and adore her, and most certainly, are blessed to have her. She is nurturing and personal, and would give the world for her students. When thrown a challenge - she accepts, perseveres, and accomplishes; regardless of road blocks thrown her way.
She shows her students what it means to take ownership of their work and responsibilities, and is helping mold our future leaders. Sheri - you are a light at Sequiota, and our students are incredibly lucky to have you!

Sequiota Elementary
Sequiota is a hidden treasure on the southeast side of Springfield! Over the last 50 years, Sequiota has changed in appearance but the values remain the same. We recently gathered to celebrate 50 years of education, success, community and family! Sequiota is a school where students come first and are at the heart of every decision made. Sequiota is home to some of the BEST families in Springfield! Sequiota would not have the ability to do all that it does without the support of our PTA. The Sequiota PTA truly has the students best interest at heart and serves as a huge foundation of Sequiota Elementary School. If you are looking for a school with a small community feel, you have come to the right place. At Sequiota, we are not just a school, we are a family that supports one another and collaborates to provide the BEST education possible for our students.
