Don't make promises that you can't keep.

Medusa was a priestess to the goddess Athena. Even though she was devoted to a life of celibacy, she mistakenly fell in love with the god Poseidon who charmed her to no end. With this foolishness of falling over heels that lead to the forbidden marriage, Medusa had to pay the price. Her once beautiful golden locks turned into atrocious, heinous snakes, her beautiful eyes to turn to bloodshot red that will turn you into stone with just one glance, and her ivory skin then turned into a tinged green that was gruesome. She was to flee to Africa, too ashamed to face those who look down upon her with disgust. After a long time of wandering helplessly alone, she was brought to her grave by Perseus.
