Camp David Accords
A Foreign Policy of Jimmy Carter
Middle East Peace Agreement
President Carter wanted to ease tensions in the Middle East between Egypt and Israel. These two countries had been at war for 30 years and in 1978 Carter invited the two leaders together to try to make peace relations between them.
So Jimmy Carter....
brought the two leaders together at Camp David, in Maryland. After 13 days, they reached a peace agreement called the Camp David Accords. This was considered one of Carter's greatest achievements.

My Opinion on this Foreign Policy
Jimmy Carter handled this situation with perfection. These two countries had been fighting for more than three centuries. Then, he was able to make them friendly towards each other again. This was very pleasing to all Americans because he was able to unite two world powers that could have started a major conflict in the Middle East.
