What did the Incas eat?
The Incas mostly ate vegetables. Some of the vegetables that they ate were maize(corn), beans, grains, potatoes, tomatoes, peanuts, cashews, squash, cucumbers, gourds, avocados, and quinoa.
What did the Incas never eat?
Most likely, the Incas never ate food such as pretzels, hard candy, pizza, potato/tortilla chips, and muffins.
What foods did the Incas bring to our tables?
The Incas brought breeds of crops such as potatoes, quinoa and corn to our tables.
Sweet Inca Porrrige
1 cup quinoa, soaked
Recipe:
1 cup rolled oats
3 cups water
a pinch of sea salt
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp honey
Place first four ingredients into a pot with tight fitting lid. Cover. bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Turn off heat, and let sit, covered for five minutes.Serve with berries
Sweet Inca Porridge was one of the more popular and common dishes in the Inca community. It was occasionally served at big events and gatherings.
