Info on Schedule Changes from Mrs. Huerta:
Thank you all for your help, at this time if you are questioning a possible schedule change for a student in your class, please consult the document that is on the inside of your classroom door called Information on Schedule Changes or the Guidelines. If the student is in an advanced class and not having success the District Guidelines dictate who we remove at 9 weeks and semester, so I would consult either of those.
At this time we are not making any changes until 10/23, making changes now would make issues with our grades posted.
Grades due next Monday
First nine weeks grades need to be submitted by 3:30 pm Monday, October 21. Once grades are all in, make sure you hit the submit button. If you have problems with submitting your grades, contact your team lead. If you don't see the submit button, you might need to open gradebook in another web browser.
Tyra will run proof sheets at 4:00 pm on Monday, October 21. Make sure your grades are submitted by that time! Don't make Tyra hunt you down!
Proof sheets will be placed in your box by noon next Tuesday. YOU WILL NEED TO LOOK AT THE INFORMATION ON EACH SHEET AND SIGN AND DATE EACH SHEET. ANY CORRECTIONS SHOULD BE DONE IN RED INK. THEY NEED TO BE RETURNED TO TYRA 4:00 PM NEXT TUESDAY MORNING.
If you have a student who is missing work that can still be submitted, please put an Incomplete. All incompletes need to be reconciled by Friday, October 25. To reconcile an incomplete, you must complete the grade correction form and submit it to Tyra.
Report cards will be run next Wednesday and mailed home next Friday.
UNIT ORGANIZERS AND SNAPSHOTS!
Read this- put in zeroes for missing work
Please be sure to enter zeroes as they happen. You will also notice that students are often quicker to turn in their late assignments when there is a zero as a placeholder instead of an X.
Of course, when they turn in the assignment late, you can change it (Stu wanted me to put that part in there in case you were confused).
Thank you!!!!
NINE WEEKS TESTING SCHEDULE!
Friday, October 11 (A Day) - 1st and 3rd period
Tuesday, October 15 (B Day) - 7th and 5th
Wednesday, October 16 (A Day) - NONE due to PSAT
Thursday, October 17 (B Day) - 6th and 8th
Friday, October 18 (A Day) - 2nd and 4th
If you need a test read, please contact the Special Education department at least a week prior to the test.
It's all hands on deck with nine weeks tests, so Kim Blakley and Fogg Machine will not be in inclusion classes. All tests will be read in the new TLC (upstairs classrooms by the math classes).
This nine weeks test can count as one of your 4 required major grades. You need to give a nine weeks test. You will be using PLC time to reflect on your data from the test, so it should be cumulative from the first nine weeks so you know what to readdress and what to change for next year.
NEXGEN QUARTERLY SELF-ASSESSMENT FORMS DUE THIS FRIDAY!
The information you share on these forms will be used by either Stu or me to complete your Nine Weeks Feedback forms.
Don't be late.

Early Release Day on Friday, October 25
8:10 - 8:55 - 1st period
9:00 - 9:50 - 2nd period
10:45 - 11:30 - 4th period
The is parent conference day for the fall semester.
We will meet in Coach Kassell's room from 1:30 - 2:00. At that time, if you have not updated your unit plans by that time, you will need to spend that time updating based on your nine weeks data and pacing. You can also use that time to update your Sped documentation.
CITIZENSHIP GRADES - MAKE SURE YOU READ!
You are expected to follow this rubric when assigning students citizenship grades for the 1st nine weeks. Students who earn all E's in their classes will be rewarded. My suggestion is to have students self-assess - that's the best way for them to learn the expectations. Then if you disagree with their self-assessment, it's a great reason to have a conversation with them about what it really means to be a great student.
504/SpEd Documentation Deadline Extension
This year, in an effort to encourage more accurate and helpful documentation, we are asking you to turn in their documentation to us at the end of each nine weeks.
For this first nine weeks, this will be due to Mrs. Janson by the end of the day Friday, October 25. There is an early release day and after a faculty meeting together, you will have the rest of the day to update your curriculum documents as well as your accommodation documentation.
If you have kept up with your documentation electronically, please share it with Mrs. Huerta. She will print them out and give them to Mrs. Janson to save you from having to do this step.
If you have kept up with your documentation on paper, please give a copy to Mrs. Janson. She will have a folder for each student and will place the hard copies in there. These will be able to be accessed by case managers and Mrs. Huerta before annual meetings so we can use the data to make decisions based on this data!
Oldies but goodies...
Does the re-do policy apply to nine weeks tests?
However, remember, they need to submit the re-do form within 2 days of receiving their posted grade.
That might mean you have to turn in an incomplete for them and then they have until the following Friday at 4:00 pm to update the grade.
FIRST 15, LAST 15 MINUTES OF CLASS ARE A NO FLY ZONE. DON'T ALLOW STUDENTS TO LEAVE YOUR CLASS DURING THESE TIMES. FIRST 5, LAST 5 DURING ADVISORY.

Advisory Changes Protocol
If you would like to make a change to a student in your advisory, you need to send an email requesting the change to Mrs. Huerta and include the teacher who is the current advisory teacher of the student.
That way everyone is in the loop.
If you don't do it this way, Mrs. Huerta will send the email back to you!
check this out! Students must complete this form to retest/redo!

positive behavior reinforcers.
Make sure you sign it (legibly) and then the students write their name on it and come to the reception desk to put their tickets in the bucket. Please do not send them during instructional time (I know...you wouldn't think of it)! Thanks!
